Robert gives us his perspective on that surreal night at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, and reflects on the Chrsitian Eriksen situation, and also gives a little insight into the off-field scandal at SK Brann in August 2021.Continue reading “[Podcast] In Conversation with… Robert Taylor”
After the craziness of the Euros – the FFS team was crazy-busy representing Finland across the world’s media – you MAY have noticed!), crazy-tired staying up until 1:00 AM watching too many games of football, and crazy-hot (at least here in Finland) – it’s been nice to calm down and return to normality.
Mark H, Mark W, Rich and Keke get together to look back at the recent European action for HJK Helsinki, KuPS Kuopio, Inter Turku and Honka, and look forward to upcoming ties for HJK and KuPS. We reflect on a comment from Joni Kauko, about transfers to Brexit Britain, which seems to have started having an effect on Finnish players. We also look back at the last month of Veikkausliiga action, which has given us a league table that is tight at both ends. Ooh-er! 😳Continue reading “[Podcast] Finnish Football Show: European Club Competitions | Veikkausliiga | Brexit Transfer Troubles”
Danish journalist, Michael Christiansen, reached out to the FFS team asking for the Finnish perspective on the incident when Christian Eriksen collapsed during the Denmark-Finland game.

And so it ends. With three group games played in 10 days, the Finland team managed a goal, a win and finished third in group B. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for the Huuhkajat to qualify for the knockout stage, but they did themselves and the while country proud.
Mark H, Mark W, Rich and Keke get together to review the final group game against Belgium and discuss how we felt while waiting for the final group positions to be decided. We also choose our Huuhkajat player of the Euros, before turning our attention to transfer news/speculation and the domestic Veikkausliiga season.Continue reading “[Podcast] Finnish Football Show: Review of Finland’s Euro 2020 Campaign | SMJK vs COVID | Transfers | Veikkausliiga”
This was a game in which the Huuhkajat were looking to cement a place in the knockout stages, and to show the watching world, that the win against Denmark was not just the result of extenuating circumstances. It didn’t quite go to plan…

They also look at Finland’s potential path through the Euros and talk about the FFS team’s busy schedule of media appearances around the world on the mainstream media.
