Match Report: Finland 1-1 Bosnia-Herzegovina

UEFA Nations League B3, Game 1.

Finland kicked off their latest Nations League campaign with a frustrating 1-1 draw against familiar foe, Bosnia-Herzegovina.

In an entertaining match, both teams seemed happy to resort to a physical contest with meaty challenges flying about early on. Finland took the lead in first half stoppage time, Teemu Pukki sending the visiting keeper the wrong way from the penalty spot, after an extensive VAR check by Scottish ref, Nick Walsh.

Though Finland carved out a number of chances in the second half, substitutions of key players left the Huuhkajat under strength and a persistent Bosnia-Herzegovina side found their in second half stoppage time. Robert Ivanov was pushed in the back trying to clear, so his header landed at the feet of Edin Dzeko. He chipped a cross to the far post where three players waited unmarked. Substitute Smail Prevljak reacted quickest and lashed home from 4 yards, to deny Finland a home win.
